English as She Is Spoke is an unintentionally hilarious phrasebook written by Pedro Carolino. It is famous for its nonsensical and bizarre English translations, which resulted from Carolino's lack of English knowledge-and possibly his reliance on a Portuguese-to-French dictionary, followed by a French-to-English dictionary.
